QSL Card: Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD)

It may be wet and rainy in Sydney, but I’ve got a reason to smile. This QSL card arrived for me, all the way from Hamburg, Germany. It is a QSL card acknowledging my report of receiving their weatherfax service, which I posted about earlier. A very kind Mr. Behncke had taken the time to prepare and send this to me and I count myself very lucky to still receive any of these in 2013!

Envelope DWD Redacted

I have redacted the Postnet barcode (local) and my address. Visible in the top right is a mark from DWD’s own franking machine – overprinted is our local sorting machine marks. SWLF = Sydney-West Letter Facility (I presume the one in Strathfield).

The front of their card pictures their facilities in Pinneberg, Germany.

The rear of their card details their very extensive services and modes, and is personally signed by Mr. Behncke himself! Thank you very much for your efforts – I’ll keep an eye out for their other services in the future :).
